The history of the property all begins back in the early 1900's. Originally built as a wilderness retreat for those who wanted a remote adventure. This was before Springstead even existed. What started as a remote fishing camp soon became a girls camp then a family resort. Over the years several family's owned & operated the property. Stories abound of tame deer, giant fish & great family fun.
For generations the lodge has been a gathering place for hunters, fisherman, and friends. The original lodge was hit by lightning and burnt down in 1979. The current building was built to replace it in 1980. If you look out the dining room windows you will still see the fireplace of the original lodge which sits as a monument to the great history of this property.
